1. Overview

Backlog.fyi is a personal task management tool with optional AI assistance. It may connect to services like Telegram, email, and your personal calendar.

This is a hobby, non-commercial project provided "as is" with no guarantees.

By using the service, you agree to these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the service.

3. Your Data

You keep full ownership of your data.

This includes:

  • Tasks and notes
  • Preferences
  • Calendar-related data (if connected)

You can:

  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time
  • Request a full export of your data

Your data will not be sold. Your data will not be shared with third parties unless:

  • It is required by law
  • It is necessary to operate the service (see section 4)

Some data (such as logs or backups) may be retained for up to 30 days after deletion.

4. Third-Party Services

The service relies on third-party providers, which may process or have access to your data. These include (but are not limited to):

  • Telegram (for messaging)
  • AI providers via OpenRouter (for AI features)
  • Email providers (for sending emails)
  • Grafana Cloud (for logs and metrics)
  • CDNs (for static assets like libraries and fonts)

While reasonable effort is made to choose privacy-respecting providers and configurations, there is no guarantee that these providers will not store or use data in ways outside of this service's control.

By using the service, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

5. Privacy Approach

  • No trackers are used
  • No privacy-invasive ads are used

However, basic logging and monitoring are in place to keep the service running.

6. AI Features

AI features may process your data to generate responses.

This may include sending your input to third-party AI providers.

Do not share sensitive information unless you are comfortable with this.

7. Moderation and Abuse

To prevent abuse, the service may use automated systems, including AI, to detect suspicious or harmful activity.

Flagged content may be reviewed by a human if necessary.

Accounts may be limited, rate-limited, or removed if abuse or excessive usage is detected.

8. Availability and Reliability

This is a hobby project.

The service may:

  • Go offline at any time
  • Lose data
  • Change without notice

No uptime, reliability, or data durability guarantees are provided.

You are responsible for keeping backups of important data.

9. Calendar and Integrations

If you connect external services (such as calendars), the service may read or modify data as needed to function.

Sync issues, duplicates, delays, or unintended changes may occur.

10. Security

Reasonable effort is made to keep the service secure.

However, no system is fully secure. Use at your own risk.

11. Disclaimer of Warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, the service owner is not liable for any damages, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or any indirect or consequential damages.

13. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time.

The service may suspend or terminate access at any time, especially in cases of abuse or misuse.

14. Changes to Terms

These terms may change at any time.

Continued use of the service means you accept the updated terms.
